Bruce students must now have their bus ID cards to ride DPS transportation. Middle school students were given these cards last Wednesday and high school students can access via their telephones. The Transportation department has created a quick instructional video (English, Spanish, French, Somali, Vietnamese) for the My Ride K-12 app.

Please make sure you are only dropping off and picking up your students on the east side of the building. The west side circle drive is for DPS and city transportation only. Thanks for creating a safe pick-up and drop-off location.

Seniors can sign up for a spot with DSF to complete their financial aid application on October 8th during family conferences - students are receiving this info directly from Ms. Angie Lopez-Rodriguez. Check with your student about next steps in reserving your time.

Are you exploring after-school options for your child? Girls Inc. of Metro Denver offers research-based center programming designed to support girls in grades K–8 as they build leadership skills, explore STEM, practice wellness, and form meaningful friendships.

Program Highlights:
Locations: Colfax Campus (1499 Julian St.) and Clayton Campus (3705 M.L.K. Jr. Blvd)
Hours: Monday–Thursday, 2:30 PM – 6:00 PM (varies by campus)
Accessibility: Sliding-scale program fees based on household income; transportation available from select local schools

DPS is hosting community engagement sessions in every region this month to learn more about what our community values about their school and student experience as we review enrollment boundaries and zones. 

There will be a Central Regional Meeting at Bruce Randolph School on Thursday, Sept. 24 from 6-8 p.m. 

Food and childcare will be provided at all sessions. Please register before attending. We look forward to seeing you there! 

On September 25th, Bruce educators will have a celebration in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month.  If you would like to bring in a food item related to your culture to share with educators, please reach out to Ms. Laura Lopez to coordinate.  Her email is laura_lopez@dpsk12.net.

Attendance on Friday’s is our lowest day each week. Please support your student’s academic and personal success by helping them get to school each Friday. We know every Friday counts!

Families can meet with a Denver Human Services specialist at DPS Community Hubs to get help with public benefits.

Services include:

• Apply for food, Colorado Works (TANF), and health coverage.
• Get answers about your current benefits.
• Connect with other community resources.

Locations are available in Central, Southwest, and Southeast Denver on select days.

The Career and College Success Program at Bruce Randolph High School had a busy and meaningful 2025-26 school year. Providing several career exploration and career readiness opportunities for students to participate in.

Including Xplore field trips, career presentations and Launch program internships coordinated by Ms. Smith and Build Your Own Internships coordinated by our school counselor, Ms. Carly Hampton. As well as the Coach Mentor Program coordinated by Mr.  Jonah Steed which will now be coordinated by Ms. Leslie Tenerio. 

We also had work readiness consultations facilitated by our partner Lory Zaldana through Denver Workforce Services. And we were able to host another successful school wide career fair sponsored by our community partner CSU Spur.

The upcoming 2026-27 school year will once again provide similar opportunities to our students and even more chances to explore meaningful career exploration!! Please take some time to look at the highlights from last year and also learn more about upcoming opportunities!

We are excited about our continuing partnerships with several organizations and about some new opportunities for students this fall. These groups will be at Back to School Night where you can learn more about what they do and about how your student can be involved.

Colorado Treks: Colorado Treks will transition to an after school program looking to provide opportunities for students to explore the natural beauty of Colorado. They provide outdoor excursion opportunities for students and their families as well as life skills coaching.
Denver Kids: Provides mentoring for students during the school day. We currently have 2 Denver Kids Mentors who work with about 80 Bruce students.
Denver Scholarship Foundation (DSF): Bruce currently has one full-time mentor and 1 part-time mentor who support students with career and college planning.  
Girls Inc.: They are new to our neighborhood and provide after school programming for students in grades 1 - college.  They provide transportation to their programming and will have their official open house in September.
Voz y Corazon: This group will continue to meet at Bruce providing after school art options for students.
