A Note From Our Principal
Dear WCE Community,
As we welcome the fall season, it’s wonderful to see how much our students have grown in just a few short weeks. The rituals and routines that felt so new at the start of the year are now second nature, and our classrooms are buzzing with energy and engagement.
Students are immersing themselves in meaningful learning, exploring new ideas, collaborating with peers, displaying social intelligence, and showing such enthusiasm for discovery both in and out of the classroom.
We are also looking forward to our upcoming conferences, where we will have the opportunity to share all the fabulous things happening across our school community. Thank you for your ongoing partnership and support as we move into this exciting season of learning and growth.
On a personal note, I want to share an update with you. As you may remember, last year I underwent surgery, which unfortunately did not go as planned due to a stubborn infection that resisted antibiotics. I will be trying again this week with the hope that this surgery will be successful, allowing for a smooth recovery so I can return to school the first week of November. In my absence, we are pleased to welcome a former colleague to assist us, Mrs. Jane Shirley. Recently retired, Mrs. Shirley has been supporting schools throughout the district and will be joining us for a couple of weeks. Please extend a warm welcome to Mrs. Shirley as she becomes part of our school community.

Scroll down and click the teal button labeled “Fall 2025 Galleries.”
Use your student’s ID number as the Gallery Access Code.
If you are not happy with your child’s picture or your child missed picture day, you can sign up for retakes by clicking the teal “Sign Up for Retakes” button directly below the Fall 2025 Galleries section.

WCE Enrichments
Looking to sign-up for an after school enrichment? All Enrichments can be found on the WCE website. Several Fall WCE Teacher Led Enrichments still have availability and new sessions are starting soon. Winter DPS Enrichment Brochure is also available. Sign your student up for some engaging fun today!

You’re invited to BOO! at CU – Safe Halloween on Thursday, October 30, 2025, from 5:30–7:30pm at the CU Anschutz Medical Campus.
This free event is open to all K–12 students and their families in our community. Join for an evening filled with games, treats, and fun activities for everyone in the family. It’s a wonderful way to celebrate Halloween in a safe and inclusive environment.
