A Note From Our PTA President |

Hi WCE Families,
I am extremely excited to share that just four months into the school year, we have already raised about 67% of our annual income goal—a huge milestone worth celebrating! Though 6–7 might drive us all a little crazy… this 6–7 is something to really celebrate.
And because of that incredible momentum, the PTA is proud to announce that we are granting $100,000 to the school right now.
We typically issue a smaller fall grant and reserve the larger grants for the spring, but thanks to the outstanding community participation in all of our fall events, we are able to make a significantly larger fall contribution this year. Your support made this possible. Planning can begin immediately, support can be provided when it’s needed, and our kids benefit today.
Thank you to each and every one of you for showing up, participating, and making a real difference for our community - and the best part is, we had fun doing it!
We still have some ground to cover to reach our full goal, but we are in a strong position heading into the spring. Be on the lookout for beloved favorites like Penny Pile Up and the Color Run, plus a few new surprises we can’t wait to share. It’s going to be an exciting season.
If you want to hear what’s coming and help shape what’s next, bring your ideas and join us on January 13 for the General CSC + PTA Meeting. We’d love to have you there!
Let’s keep growing together.
Together we are WCE.

We are experiencing a high number of flu cases at Westerly Creek.
If your child is experiencing flu symptoms, please keep them home. Call the attendance line at 720-424-3160 and follow the prompts. Please leave a detailed message on why your child is absent and any symptoms they are experiencing.
Flu symptoms may include: Fever, chills, cough, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, muscle or body aches, headaches, fatigue. Vomiting and diarrhea are symptoms that are more common in children than adults. Not everyone with the flu will have a fever.
The best way to prevent flu is with the flu vaccine. Everyone 6 months of age and older are recommended to receive a seasonal flu vaccine each year, with rare exceptions.
Children can get vaccinated as soon as vaccines become available through healthcare providers, clinics or pharmacies.

Tomorrow is the last day of the Book Fair!
Our book fair will be running during the following times:
- Monday, December 8th - Friday, December 12th 7:45 - 8:15am & 3:15 - 5:00pm daily in the library
Scholastic E-wallet:
E-wallet allows you to safely add money into your student's account for use at the book fair.
A couple of things to note about e-wallets:
- New e-wallets need to be set up for each and every book fair.
- Any previous e-wallets that have a balance are automatically put on an e-gift card that can be seen on the left hand side of your login page under ‘My account and funds’ or ‘e-gift cards’.
- There is also an opportunity for others to add money to the E-wallet (perfect for early holiday gifts from grandparents, etc).
Online Book Fair:
If you can’t make it to the Fair, no worries! You can shop at our school’s Online Book Fair. All orders ship directly to your home, and shipping is free for book orders over $25. Your online orders will also benefit our school.
