Happy Earth Week! Check out this video that DPS made about Lola Lopez through Sustainability Club about her project for the Seal of Climate Literacy.

Lola did a lesson with students at Samuels Elementary about the importance of bees and had them create bee boxes (Val Olivares also helped with this).

We have had 21 junior and senior students apply for the Seal of Climate Literacy this year (up from 6 who earned it last year) and they are presenting their projects this week and will be honored at an award ceremony at South HS on May 13th in addition to earning this Seal on their transcript and earning a cord for graduation.

More info about the Seal of Climate Literacy can be found here if you're curious!

They did it again!

For the 12th year, funds were donated to Thomas Jefferson from the annual All For One Golf Tournament.  Players gather each year at the Wellshire Golf Course for a fun golf tournament while supporting our school through net proceeds.  The tournament donated $900 in October which brings the total to over $10,000 in the last 11 years.

The next tournament is scheduled for Saturday, June 13, 2026.  Do you have customers to host or just love to play golf? Sponsors and Golfers are invited to participate. Get more information at www.allforonegolf.org or call John at 720 232-4554

needs, ask the school nurse, or an SBHC clinic staff member.

IT’S SHOE COLLECTION TIME!!
Clean out your closets and everywhere else you keep shoes, then send them to school with your kids to drop off in the collection box in the office at school.

We are hoping to collect 2,500+ pairs of shoes by the end of the school year. Right now, we’ve collected just under 100 pairs.

We’re hoping to get a big surge in shoes during one-day drive-thru shoe drop off in the TJ parking lot on Saturday, May 9 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. You can help! We need a few parent and student volunteers to help collect and bag up the shoes. You can sign up to help online and/or follow this link to download a flyer to post on your favorite community bulletin boards.

ORDER NOW FOR SPRING PLANTING
Just a few weeks left to order items for spring planting from the Class of 2028 Flower Power page. There are all kinds of flowers, seeds, seed mats and more. All spring orders are due by May 15.

TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK is coming up May 4-8. The Class of 2028 will be providing a sandwich bar for teachers on Friday, May 8. Sign-up up here to help celebrate our teachers by donating food or helping with the event (10:45 setup). We will be outside TJ before school on the 8 th to collect donated your donations (we will even take your shoes if you bring them by).

Mark your calendars to help out with the Sophomores and S’mores on May 12 (tentatively). This is an after-school event where kids can kick back and enjoy a sweet treat assembled (and toasted) by their parents and play a few games. The sign-up is coming soon --
donations can be dropped off on the 8 th as well.

HELP OUT WITH A ONE-TIME OR RECURRING DONATION
We have raised about $6,000 for class activities and After Prom, but it’s going
to take at least double that to make the next two years memorable. Follow this
link
to set up a recurring donation of just $5-$10 a month. One-time donations
are also accepted.
