Digital Accessibility Tip: Videos

In June 2021, Colorado passed House Bill 21-1110 to strengthen state discrimination laws for people with disabilities. It makes sure that everyone has access to digital content created by local government organizations, including school districts.

Accessibility must be a priority when producing videos within the District, including videos produced by third-party vendors. To ensure content is inclusive and impactful, upload your content to a video platform that supports accessibility best practices.

YouTube is a great option. It offers built-in captioning tools in multiple languages, supports screen readers and other accessibility features. To maximize accessibility, be sure your videos include accurate captions, clear audio and high contrast visuals.

Be on the lookout for a lunch and learn with more information hosted by DPS Communications.
