Benefits Open Enrollment: Take Action on Your HSA/FSA Account

Open Enrollment is open now through May 9. The 2025-26 Benefits Enrollment Guide is now available in English and Spanish to help you view your medical, vision, and dental options, understand your rates, and learn about supplemental benefits. To access the Benefits portal, log into Oracle and click on the Benefits icon.

This year is a passive enrollment, meaning that all benefits-eligible employees are able to enroll or waive in benefits. If you do not take action, your benefit elections from last plan year will roll over into the new plan year.

Important: If you have an HSA or FSA, you must take action and re-enroll to continue your plan -- these benefits will not roll over.

What are these accounts?

  • A Health Savings Account (HSA) is a pre-tax, personal savings account that helps you pay for qualified expenses that are not covered by your medical, dental or vision plans.

  • A Flexible Spending Account (FSA) is a pre-tax benefit account used to pay for eligible medical, dental and vision care expenses that aren't covered by your insurance plan.

Learn more about how these options support your health and well-being needs throughout the year by visiting the Benefits page on The Commons.

If you have questions about benefits enrollment, contact the Benefits team at emailbox@dpsk12.net or call 720-423-3900, option 1.

There will be prizes for the schools and departments with the highest completion rate when the survey closes on May 4.

Please take 10 minutes to complete the survey now by accessing your unique link to the survey. Look for the email from K12 Insights that was sent to your DPS inbox on April 21. If you have any questions, email surveys@dpsk12.net. For more information, visit the CollaboRATE page on The Commons.

Digital Accessibility Tip: Digital Accessibility on The Commons

In June 2021, Colorado passed House Bill 21-1110 to strengthen state discrimination laws for people with disabilities. The bill makes sure that everyone has access to digital content created by local government organizations, including school districts.

Check out the Digital Accessibility page on The Commons for guides on installing the Grackle Docs, Sheets and Slides Google Extensions along with general guides for web and Google Docs, Sheets and Slides. Watch for more digital accessibility tips in future issues of Team DPS Weekly.

Shakespeare Festival: DPS Nurses Support 4,000 Participants

Nurses at the Shakespeare Festival

Join us in celebrating and congratulating the six Denver Public School nurses and four Emily Griffith Technical College nurses who supported DPS students in last week's Shakespeare Festival. Their presence and commitment made a significant difference, as they provided support for CPR, first aid and basic life support for over 4,000 participants.

Additionally, twenty students from Emily Griffith Technical College volunteered their time and skills to ensure the success of the event. Their dedication exemplifies the spirit of service and collaboration that strengthens our community.

A huge thank you to everyone involved in making Friday a wonderful and memorable day for our DPS students and the community!

Cheryl Malet
Teacher, Escalante-Biggs Academy
Students First

"Cheryl is such a dedicated teacher who values kindness and relationship. She is always looking for ways to improve students' experiences during the school day. This year, she applied for the A to Z grant and was awarded. She was recognized for completing the most home visits and just got our school partnered with Denver Urban Gardens. They are going to help us create a therapeutic sensory garden, as well as train our staff to support kids in learning and using gardening skills. Cheryl is always thinking of ways to make learning fun and interactive. She continues to focus on families and the support she can provide to help children succeed. Her passions for learning and students help support an environment where students thrive, learn to build independence and kindness for others."
