Digital Accessibility Tip: What does it mean to be digitally accessible?
In June 2021, Colorado passed House Bill 21-1110 to strengthen state discrimination laws for people with disabilities. It makes sure that everyone has access to digital content created by local government organizations, including school districts.
Digital accessibility means websites, documents and software are usable by everyone. It ensures that people with a disability including but not limited to blindness, low vision, hearing impairment or limited mobility can find and use digital information in the same way a person without a disability can. Learn more on the DPS Accessibility Information webpage. Watch for more digital accessibility tips in future issues of Team DPS Weekly.
Heidi Saunders
Principal Resident, Eagleton Elementary
Fun
"Heidi demonstrates the Shared Core Value of Fun each and every day at Eagleton! Throughout her time at Eagleton, she has organized and executed many fun activities that bring light, cheer and fun to our building. She organized a Chili Cook Off, Pi Day Celebration for students and staff (Fun fact: Heidi knows 157 digits of Pi), baking contests, Flamingo Friday and much more. She is known for ending meetings with a joke, sending out a weekly joke in her update emails and including a fun bingo game into otherwise logistical yet required trainings. She fully participates in all spirit weeks, dressing up and not being afraid to be silly. Fun is a core value of hers that aligns with Denver Public Schools and it is evident each day. The staff and students at Eagleton benefit from her fun-inspired leadership!"
