Year-Round Cybersecurity Best Practices

Cybersecurity is a year-round priority as cybercriminals work nonstop. To keep work applications safe, DPS uses Cisco Duo multi-factor authentication (MFA) for most DPS applications. In addition to using Duo, follow these steps to keep your devices protected:

  • Always keep your device's operating systems and patches up to date. Contact your device manufacturer and operating system provider for assistance.

  • Use unique and strong passwords and use a password manager.

  • Turn MFA on for all your accounts.

  • Always log off your applications and lock your computer when you are away. Turn your computer off when not in use.

  • Set a unique and secure password for your home WiFi router.

Living Our DPS Honoree

James Hartsfield
Dean of Culture, DELTA High School
Students First

"James started this year with DELTA High School and from day one, has shown his passion for working with students. James is an intentional listener and supports students through times of need but also in times of fun. He builds rapport quickly with students as evidenced by their trust to continue to lean and seek out his support. When a student needs additional support with peer relationships or academics, he is always answering the call to step in and provide guidance as needed.

James brings such a rich and wise perspective to DELTA from his previous tenure with Cherry Creek Schools. He has fresh ideas to further our collaboration with students, families, and staff. He is always willing to step in to support a staff member or volunteer for an opportunity to support our students and families. James contributes to several committees such as the attendance team and our 9th grade squad and supports the overall mission of Delta by preparing students to thrive, take ownership, and confidently lead in their lives and communities."
