Latine Teacher Volunteers Needed for Virtual Event on April 16

Join us on Wednesday, April 16 from 5:30-7 p.m. for a virtual event where Latine teachers will have an opportunity to connect and network. During this 1.5 hour event, Latine teachers will participate in facilitated break out groups to listen to each other’s stories, share mentorship advice and generate ideas to share with district leadership about increasing retention and cultural sustainment for Latine teachers in DPS. The maximum capacity for the event is 30 teachers.

If interested, complete this form by Tuesday, April 8.

Top 5 Call Out: National Assistant Principal Week (April 7-11)

National Assistant Principal Week is April 7-11. To celebrate, we are asking Team DPS to submit a shoutout for their school's assistant principal and shine a light on all the great work that they do. Show some DPS pride and share the good vibes!

Digital Accessibility Tip: PDF Alternatives

In June 2021, Colorado passed House Bill 21-1110 to strengthen state discrimination laws for people with disabilities. The bill makes sure that everyone has access to digital content created by local government organizations, including school districts.

Even if a PDF has been made accessible, it may not be the best way to present that information. Before making a document in Google or Canva and exporting it as a PDF:

  • Are you uploading this PDF to a website? Consider making a webpage with the information.

  • Are you sending this PDF in an email? Consider including the information in the email itself.

More information can be found on the DPS Accessibility Information webpage. Look out for more digital accessibility tips in future issues of Team DPS Weekly!
