The Your Voice/Tu Voz Student Survey is Open Now Through March 21

Students in third through 12th grade should have received an email from Superintendent Dr. Alex Marrero with a unique link to complete the survey. Students will have dedicated time to complete the survey during class. If you have questions, contact your school’s SAL or email surveys@dpsk12.net.

The Executive Director of Early Education, Priscilla Hopkins, and the Early Education Director, Eric Love, will hold a “Spring State of the Union address” webinar for ECE staff and school leaders on April 3 from 4:30-5 p.m. Save this login link to join the webinar. Submit questions ahead of time with the ECE Spring State of the Union Questionnaire up until 11:59 p.m. on Friday, March 14. If you have any questions regarding this event, email Laura Green.

Are you a parent, teacher, student, educator, school leader or community member who is passionate about improving our local schools and ensuring that all DPS students thrive? Consider applying to join the District Accountability Committee (DAC)! As an advisory body, the DAC provides feedback to DPS on decisions that impact our schools.  

The DAC is accepting applications through Friday, March 21. The application is available in multiple languages to share with families.

The deadline for early fall 2025 PDU applications is April 11. The following PDU application deadline will be in late August 2025. Email Michele Deats if you have any questions.

Central Professional Learning Day on April 18 is scheduled as follows:

• 8-11:15 a.m.- Professional learning

• 12:30-4 p.m.- Teacher-directed planning time 

Registration will open and the course guide will be available beginning March 20. Look for the course guide in an upcoming edition of Teacher Weekly!

For those times when you can't immediately end a virtual hall pass, use the End Pass on Time option (under Options) to quickly close the pass without pausing your teaching. Remember that the recorded pass time will be the original duration, not when you chose 'End Pass on Time. For example, if a five-minute pass was issued at 1:30 p.m., and you select the 'End Pass on Time' at 2 p.m., the record will show the pass ending at 1:35 p.m.
