Dear Swigert Families,

So many incredible things are happening at Swigert right now - the energy is palpable as we near the final two weeks of this year. Students are reflecting on their learning and growth, creating research presentations on awesome topics, and fifth graders are finalizing their exhibitions. Field Day was awesome last Friday - it was pretty darn inspiring to see the pure joy from our students. Thank you to Mr. Shutts for planning, organizing and implementing such a special day. We call it his super bowl. Here's a few photos. You can see them all here.

They will make their way through the halls surrounded by cheers and then exit onto the playground. Parents can join in the main lobby area or outside on the playground.

They will share their work from 5:00-5:30 followed by 20 minutes to look at all their displays and art. Their continuation ceremony will follow in the gym from 5:50-6:30 and will end with cupcakes outside.

Medication Pick-Up

1

Dear Swigert Families,

Thank you for supporting the Denver Public Schools medication policy. Please make sure to pick up all medications and medical equipment used by your child on or before the last day of school. Colorado Guidelines state that medications are not permitted to be sent home with your child.

If your child is participating in a summer program, their medication will not automatically be transferred to the site of the program. It is up to the parent/guardian to pick up the medication from the school and transport it to the summer program site.

REMAINING MEDICATIONS WILL BE DESTROYED AT 1PM ON JUNE 3RD 2025.

It has been a pleasure to work with you and your child this school year and I look forward to next year. Thank you in advance for your cooperation. Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me at hoang_tran@dpsk12.net.

Sincerely,

Hoang Tran

Noetics Spring Competition Results

Students from the Swigert Noetics Team, led by Robin Bresnahan, participated in the Noetic Learning Math Contest held this April. The goal of the competition is to encourage students’ interest in math, to develop their problem-solving skills, and to inspire them to excel in the STEM fields.

Seven Swigert students made the honor roll (received an 80% or above): Luna Flores (2nd), DJ Cleary (3rd), Zander Maxmeister (4th), Ethan Li (4th), Hanako Hamada (5th), Leo Robinson (5th), and PJ Heskin (5th). Hanako Hamada had the highest score of all students with a 90%! Many other team members were very close to making the honor roll.

Congratulations to all our participants and winners! The contest results not only demonstrate our students’ exceptional mathematical talents but also their dedication and hard work. This is a proud moment for the Swigert Noetics Team.
