Dear Swigert Families,

We are flying through to spring break. Our fifth grade students are leaving this week for their annual overnight trip up to Balarat, an outdoor learning center near Jamestown, Colorado. The students engage in a variety of outdoor activities and learning including the infamous night hike and giant swing. The kids leaving today were so excited this morning as they boarded the bus. Well to be fair, they have been excited all week.

After spring break we will be starting our CMAS state testing for third through fifth graders. Here is the schedule with dates and times for each session and grade level - CMAS Schedule 2026. Please make sure your students get a good night's rest and encourage them to try their best. Have a wonderful spring break.

Sincerely,

Shelby Dennis

Little Mermaids and Fish Wanted!

Northfield's Musical Theatre Production class is rehearsing for their upcoming productions of "The Little Mermaid" and is looking for some amazing little Swigert mermaids and fish to go 'Under the Sea' with us!

Any student who can commit to the rehearsal dates, costume needs, and show dates is welcome to join us! We need strong singers!

Interested? Please join us on March 26th after school in the Swigert library for an informational meeting for about 30 minutes.

A total of 3 rehearsals will take place at the end of April and the beginning of May. Students will be in the songs "Under the Sea" and "Kiss the Girl."

Costumes must be supplied by each student's family. Any mermaid or fish costume, makeup, hair, accessories is great! Be creative!

Show dates are May 19 and 21, at Northfield High School at 6:00pm. Tickets for the show will be $5 each.

Questions? email Jennifer Carabetta, Northfield High School, at jennifer_carabetta@dpsk12.net

Enrichment Feedback

ELCS is currently building the 2026-2027 Enrichment Schedule, and they want to make sure it’s packed with the activities your students are actually excited about.

TAKE THE SURVEY!

Help us bring their passions to life:

What excites them? (Coding, Cooking, Sports, Drama?)

When can they play? (Help us find the perfect time slot.)

What’s missing? (Tell us the one program your child is dreaming of!)

Survey Closes: April 6th

Thank you for helping us create a school year they'll never forget!
