Dear Swigert Families,

I want to highlight an upcoming Swigert Community event this Thursday, December 11th. We will be hosting our Annual Winterfest Celebration at Swigert from 6-8pm. This is a school-wide community event to celebrate and learn about different cultural traditions from around the world. It ties with our IB focus on encouraging international mindedness. International mindedness is a view of the world in which people see themselves connected to the global community and assume a sense of responsibility towards its members. We will provide: a percussion Performance/Drum Circle, the Central City Opera- Musical Menagerie, holiday displays, crafts of holidays around the world, and a potluck in the cafeteria. Please bring a dish to share - a holiday treat, a savory favorite, or a quick grab from the grocery store. A huge shout out to Tabitha Jones (our 2/3rd grade literacy interventionist and Senior Team Lead) for coordinating this special event. You can find details here - Swigert Winterfest.

We are seeing an uptick in sick kids and staff, please take care - wash hands and get rest!

Sincerely,

Shelby Dennis

PS - Here are some pictures from the week of snow fun, testing gliders in STEM, bowling and balance units in PE
