As a reminder, Swansea is encouraging our students to participate in a school-wide independence activity. The goal is for students to do something new on their own, without parent support, but students are required to obtain parent permission before embarking on a solo-activity. Stepping outside of their comfort zone is where growth happens!

Students and families are invited to come to the annual Winter Celebrations Around the World event tonight at 5 p.m.! If you didn’t pick up a holiday gift for your student at the Swansea Holiday Shop last Saturday, you will be able to claim your gift at Winter Celebrations Around the World! 

If your student is in need of a meal over the holiday break, stop by a Tasty Food site. No ID or registration is required. Please see the schedule for more details. Tasty Food sites will be closed on December 25 and January 1. 

We’d like to remind our community that our school is a vape-free campus. For the health and safety of our students and staff, vaping is not permitted anywhere on school property at any time, including during dismissal while waiting to pick up students.We kindly ask all adults to refrain from vaping and loitering on campus and to help us model healthy choices for our students. Thank you for helping us keep our school environment safe and welcoming for all.

Join Saturday School next semester! Saturday School next semester begins on January 17, and the program ends on May 16. Saturday School begins at 9 a.m. and ends at 12 p.m. Snacks, drinks, prizes and books will be available. Students have the following Saturdays off: February 28, April 4 and May 2. This opportunity is available for students in Kindergarten-5th grade. Students already enrolled from the fall semester do not need to enroll again. Our mystery staff member this week was born in Minnesota but grew up in sunny Fairfield and Los Angeles, California.

This staff member is always craving a good burrito, pizza or sushi dinner, and they love the color green. When they aren’t in the classroom, they enjoy live music, video games, reading, skiing and traveling. Can you guess who it is?
