Skate Night at Skate City

Join us on Wednesday, December 17 at 5:30 p.m. at Skate City! If students have a 95% or higher attendance rate, they will receive free admission AND skates. Students who did not meet the 95% attendance goal will still get free skates but will need to pay the cost of admission.

Let Grow December Homework

Swansea is starting a school-wide independence activity. It is all about letting your student get comfortable trying out things that “stretch” them, which ultimately allows them to build confidence and independence. The goal is for students to do something new independently. If students are very young, it can be drawing chalk art on the sidewalk or making their own lunch. If students are in first or second grade, it could be something more adventurous, preferably outside the home, like playing in the park or walking to a nearby friend’s house alone or with a buddy. Older students are encouraged to do something truly “grown up,” like buying ingredients from the store and baking a cake. Whatever they do has to be okayed by you. Stepping outside of their comfort zone is where the growth happens!

Winter Celebrations Around the World Event

On December 18 at 5 p.m., students and families are invited to come to the annual Winter Celebrations Around the World event. Families can expect to learn about cultures and their holiday traditions, create fun crafts and watch student performances! 4th graders will perform at 5:30 p.m., and 3rd graders will perform at 6:10 p.m. Student performers should arrive at least 15 minutes prior to their performance time.

If you didn’t pick up a holiday gift for your student at the Swansea Holiday Shop last Saturday, you will be able to claim your gift at Winter Celebrations Around the World!
