Tomorrow (November 8) is a Snow Day

All DPS schools and administrative offices will be closed on Friday, November 8, 2024, due to anticipated winter weather. DPS will continue to monitor the weather and will announce any updates first on the DPS homepage at www.dpsk12.org and district social media channels.

Your Voice / Tu Voz Survey

The DPS “Your Voice/Tu Voz” Family Survey has been extended through Friday, Nov. 8. The feedback we receive through this survey is critical to understanding how we can better serve students and their families. We know that this is a very busy time of year when you have many priorities to juggle simultaneously. We recognize your efforts and thank you for continuing to prioritize the survey so we can hear from as many families as possible in service of improving the DPS Experience.

Literacy & Math Night is Next Week

Students and guardians, please join us on Wednesday, November 13 at 5 p.m. for a fun event highlighting the importance of math and literacy! This event will help our school community understand academic expectations for each grade level and provide ideas for families to support student learning at home. Families can anticipate lots of fun, pizza and light refreshments. See you next Wednesday!

Trunk-or-Treat Winner

Thank you to everyone that braved the cold and attended Trunk-or-Treat last week! Congratulations to our trunk winner, pictured above. Please contact the Main Office so we can coordinate ordering you a free lunch!

Winter Weather Arrival and Dismissal Procedure

Arrival: When arriving at the normal time or even on a delayed start, students will enter the school through the playground. Students needing breakfast will go to the cafeteria, and students not needing breakfast will go to the gym. Students should not be arriving earlier than 7:55 a.m. as they will NOT be allowed inside the building earlier than that time.

Dismissal: In the afternoon, we will open the gates immediately, and parents can pick- up their child from the teacher once they arrive on the playground.

Increase in items in the Lost and Found

We have seen an uptick in students losing their coats and jackets. If your student is missing an item, please be sure to check the lost and found, located near the main office.

Upcoming: Thanksgiving Break

Students will not have school November 25-29. We’ll see you back at school on Monday, December 2.
