All students, regardless of immigration status, have a constitutionally protected right to access free public education. Public K-12 schools must teach all students free of charge, regardless of their immigration status or their parents’ status.
To read more about Family Immigration Resources, please review the English and Spanish Family Toolkits.
Jeans and navy leggings are not approved uniform bottoms. Students must wear navy blue uniform pants. If you are unsure if your student’s pants are approved, please contact the main office.
Thank you to the parent volunteers that helped get students fitted for their new winter jackets from Operation Warm. We’re so grateful for your support and time. Thank you for helping make this event memorable for our Stallion students!
Every school district in Colorado, including DPS, works with the Colorado Department of Early Childhood (CDEC) to continue expanding its Early Childhood Education with an enrollment process for Universal Preschool Colorado, also known as (UPK).
UPK ensures that every child, in the year before they are eligible for kindergarten, is eligible for half-day, state-funded, voluntary preschool. Children who are considered low income (defined as household income at or below the 270% of federal poverty guidelines) and have qualifying factors may be eligible for additional hours.
The Colorado Department of Early Childhood has announced that for the 2025-26 school year, families applying for ECE-4 must first submit a Universal Preschool Colorado (UPK) application, and the matching process will be completed through UPK (not through Denver Public Schools). Families applying for ECE-3 will submit a DPS SchoolChoice application, and the matching process will be completed through DPS.

Inclement Weather Procedure:
If inclement weather or an emergency occurs which would result in the closing of the school in the Denver area or it becomes necessary to adjust the schedule of the start or dismissal time of school, information will be announced by local radio and TV stations. The radio and TV stations receive notification from district officials by 5:00 am. Please dress your children appropriately while still maintaining our dress code. Students will remain outside unless the temperature falls below 32 degrees or if it snows or rains.
Dismissal:
As a reminder, students can enter the school at 8:10 a.m. in the mornings, and class begins at 8:15 a.m. Classroom instruction ends at 3:15 p.m. Students then gather their belongings and leave the school. Guardians, if you are waiting for your student outside, please be advised that students will not exit exactly at 3:15 p.m.
