SchoolChoice Opens December 2 |
The SchoolChoice timeline has changed! For the 2026-27 school year, the Round 1 window will open on Dec. 2, 2025 at 10 a.m. and close on Jan. 20, 2026 at 4 p.m. Families will be notified of placement results in late February. If you have questions about SchoolChoice, please visit the SchoolChoice website, https://schoolchoice.dpsk12.org/, or contact the main office!

OpportunitIes to Volunteer |
We would welcome any help or support from our Stallion guardians. Save the date for upcoming opportunities to help the school: Class Pictures: February 20 Children's Day Celebration: April 30 Field Day: May 28 |
Upcoming: Swansea Holiday Shop |
Please save the date for the Swansea Holiday Shop! The tentative date for the Swansea Holiday Shop is Saturday, December 6 from 8 a.m. -12 p.m. (during Saturday School). If this date changes, we will let you know as soon as possible.
At this time we can only confirm gifts for students that are enrolled at Swansea. If we have a surplus of gifts, we will allow parents to pick out a gift for all their kids. Please check in closer to the event date! During the event, parents will be given gift wrap and encouraged to wrap gifts at home. Supplies will be distributed! The Community Hub will be providing cookies and coffee and hosting a Q&A session about what the Community Hub is and the services it offers.
If there is bad weather on December 6, there is the potential that we reschedule the event to the following week. | Food Assistance at Swansea Recreation Center |
If you or your family is in need of food assistance, Tasty Food Denver may be able to help. This program is for youth, ages 3–18, to enjoy breakfast, lunch, supper and/or a nutritious snack. Tasty Food meals include up to five food groups that are low in fat and prepared fresh. No ID or registration required- just show up and eat. Saturday meals are available until January 3, 2026.
The Swansea Recreation Center is a Tasty Food site! They serve supper Monday – Friday from 3- 6 p.m. and serve lunch on Saturdays from 11 a.m.- 1 p.m. |
Save the Date: Winter Around the World Celebration |
Mark your calendar! On December 18, students and families are invited to come to the annual Winter Celebrations Around the World event at 5 p.m. More details will be available soon! |

Last week’s mystery Stallion, pictured to the right, is... Ms. Vanessa Medina! Did you guess correctly? We’ll have more mystery staff members when we return from Fall Break. |

Thank you to our friends at ODIE B’S RINO for helping us fundraise for Swansea Elementary! We appreciate everyone who rounded up their purchase to benefit our school. We encourage you to stop by Odie B's to grab great eats and to support future fundraisers for other local organizations in our neighborhood!
