Dear Stedman Community,
I hope you are all doing well and have been enjoying the fall weather. There has been so much happening around Stedman, and it has been wonderful to see our community come together for so many special moments — from our Hispanic Heritage Month celebrations to our Fall Festival and Parade, each event has reflected the unity and togetherness that make Stedman so special. These moments remind us of the power of community — when we come together, we not only celebrate our diversity but strengthen the bonds that connect us all.
This month, we are focusing on our KNIGHT Life Value of Integrity. Integrity means doing the right thing, even when no one is watching. You can support your student in building this value by:
Encouraging honesty in words and actions, even when mistakes are made.
Talking about what it means to keep promises and take responsibility.
Celebrating small moments when your child shows truthfulness or stands up for what’s right.
As a few reminders:
Kiss N’ Go: To keep traffic moving and ensure everyone’s safety, please remain in your car when using the Kiss N’ Go lane. If you need to get out of your vehicle, park on the north side of Dahlia Street and use the crosswalk. Students and families should always cross at the crosswalk — not in the middle of the street — and students should exit from the passenger side only.
Thanksgiving Luncheon: Join us on Thursday, November 13th for our Thanksgiving Luncheon! More information is included in this newsletter.
Thanksgiving Break: There will be no school November 24th–28th.
With the government shutdown and delay in SNAP benefits, many families across Colorado have been affected by food insecurity. We’ve included a list of community food resources in this newsletter for anyone who may need support. You can also reach out directly to Mrs. Kait (kaitlin_parsons@dpsk12.net) for additional assistance or information.
As we enter this season of gratitude, I want to express my appreciation for our incredible students, families, and staff who continue to make Stedman a strong and caring community. Thank you for all the ways you support our school and one another.
With appreciation,
Principal Trotter
