Dear Stedman Families,
I hope everyone enjoyed the beautiful three-day weekend and found time to rest and recharge! As we move into a new week, I’m excited to continue celebrating our students and staff who are modeling our KNIGHT Life Value of Noble Character. We’ve seen this value shine in so many ways—students helping peers without being asked, teachers supporting one another through collaboration, and classrooms demonstrating respect and integrity in both words and actions. Thank you for reinforcing these values at home and helping our Knights live out what it means to be Noble.
Our academic focus this week is on Checks for Understanding. Teachers are intentionally pausing throughout lessons to ensure students are mastering key concepts and language objectives before moving on. This practice helps every student stay engaged and supported in their learning journey, ensuring each learner has meaningful access to the lesson and opportunities to actively engage in their own learning
A few important reminders and upcoming events:
Picture Retakes: Tuesday, October 21st – Students who missed picture day or would like a retake will have the opportunity to do so.

Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration – Friday, October 17th
We are so excited to close out Hispanic Heritage Month with a vibrant after-school celebration on Friday, October 17th! Join us as we come together in community to honor the rich cultures, histories, and contributions of our Hispanic and Latinx families. This celebration is a powerful reminder of the diversity, pride, and unity that make Stedman such a special place to learn and grow.
Thank You for a Wonderful Conference Week!
Last week’s Family-Teacher Conferences were an incredible opportunity to celebrate growth, share goals, and strengthen the partnership between home and school. Thank you to all of our families for engaging in these meaningful conversations and to our teachers for their thoughtful preparation and care. A huge thank you also goes to our amazing PTA for providing food each night for our staff—it was such a generous and appreciated gesture that kept everyone fueled and focused!
Thank you, as always, for your continued partnership and support in helping our KNIGHTS thrive—academically, socially, and emotionally. Together, we’re creating a community where every child shines.
With gratitude,
Principal Trotter
