Dear Steck Families,
Thank you for those that have come out to our Veteran's Day performance today. Shout out to Sam Southwell, our wonderful music teacher, for coordinating this event and thank you to PTSA for providing the refreshments.
Important Safety Reminder
We need your help to keep our students safe. As our daily lives become increasingly busy, it’s easy to get distracted during drop-off and pick-up times. However, we must all remain alert—especially in school zones. The narrow streets around Steck can make traffic challenging, so please be patient and give one another space and grace as we work together to safely get students to and from school.
Recently, there have been several incidents near the school during morning drop-off that have put student safety at risk. To protect our students, staff, and community, please drive with extra care and attention whenever you are near the school. Our children are counting on us to look out for them.
A few important reminders:
Slow down – Follow posted speed limits in school zones.
Stay alert – Watch for students in crosswalks and drop-off areas, and be prepared for children who may cross unexpectedly.
Avoid distractions – Put phones away and stay focused on your surroundings.
Be patient – A few extra minutes can make a big difference in keeping everyone safe.
Drop-Off and Pick-Up Guidelines
To maintain a safe and efficient drop-off and pick-up process for both pedestrians and bicyclists, please follow these important guidelines:
Observe all street and parking signs, and only park in designated areas. Never park in “No Parking” zones.
Use the Kiss and Go lane properly by pulling forward to the front of the lane before dropping off your child. Move ahead as space allows to keep traffic flowing.
Do not stop or park in crosswalks to ensure clear, safe passage for pedestrians and bicyclists.
Keep handicapped parking spaces open for those who need them.
Do not pull into or park in the staff parking lot at any time.
Your cooperation helps ensure the safety of all students, families, and staff.
Thank you for your continued commitment to keeping our school community safe. Please continue to drive carefully and responsibly every day.
