Dear Steck Parents and Guardians,
I hope this message finds you well. During the month of February, we have focused on our theme of being supportive of one another. This theme of being supportive comes directly from our Steck Stars pledge. I ask that you continue to discuss this theme and reiterate its importance at home just as we do here at school. Examples include how we can be supportive of classmates and of teachers.
In addition, I would like to add the overall value of kindness to the theme of being supportive. If you could continue to talk to your students about the importance of being kind to classmates and using kind words, I would greatly appreciate it. This can include simple things like saying "please and thank you", it can include sharing and taking turns, and it can include refraining from name-calling or speaking down to another student. I notice this in particular on the playground and sports fields.
I appreciate your partnership in making Steck an amazing community school for all of us. I am here to work with all of our students and families, and please let me know if there’s anything I can do personally for you.
Have a good weekend.
Sincerely,
Ken Burdette
