Update from Principal Ken Burdette |
Happy Friday Steck Community:
A huge shout-out to our 3rd-5th grade students for their successful completion of CMAS testing this week. We are finished, aside from a few make-up tests next week. Our ECE-2nd grade students were very supportive of our older students, and that is a reflection of our Steck STARS traits. And not to be left out, our Steck Staff did an incredible job in making these past 2 weeks a smooth, efficient success.
I am looking forward to a strong finish to the school year. We have a lot of fun activities and end-of-year celebrations coming up, including the school-wide Steckretariat Fun Run on May 8th. I am personally looking forward to our families joining for many of these events, as this continues to build and strengthen our Steck community.
As an aside, I often do not receive Thrillshare messages. If you wish to reach me via email, please email directly at kburdet@dpsk12.net.
Thank you for your partnership,
Ken Burdette

The Steckretariat Fun Run 2026 is just a few short weeks away on May 8th! All are welcome to come out to cheer on our amazing students as they run, dance, and have fun.
This is our only student-led fundraiser of the year, so we encourage your kiddos to reach out to grandparents, aunts, uncles, and friends to help support their beloved school.
Our goal this year is to raise $35,000 for the PTSA, with funds going toward a new swing set for the main playground.
