Hello Steck Families and Happy Friday:
Overall, it was a very positive week at Steck Elementary! Our 3rd-5th graders worked hard and showed resilience with CMAS testing. The ECE - 2nd graders demonstrated our STARS traits by being supportive of the older kids during testing, including changing their Specials schedules and being quiet in the hallways during transitions. In addition, the roll-out of the Outside Line-up in the mornings has already created an increase in school culture and community. Thank you all for your support with this initiative.
As we enter Spring and continue to enjoy this beautiful weather, it is great to see so many students and families staying after school to use the playground and fields, as well as to mingle and make new friends. I encourage you to continue doing so! And in doing so, please remember that the expectations we have during the school day are the same expectations we have after school and anytime on Steck grounds. Some common expectations to remember and to reinforce with after school play include:
- Use of kind words and proper language.
- We do not throw mulch or wood chips for any reason.
- The slide is only for going down. We do not climb up the slide, as this has led to injuries in the past.
- Only 1 student at a time going down the slide.
- Take turns and share.
Lastly, I want to invite you to the upcoming PTSA Meeting & Coffee with the Principal on Tuesday, 4/14. We will meet at 7:40am in the school cafeteria. If you are unable to attend in person, you can also opt to join virtually using the following link:

Thank you all! Have a good weekend.
