🎉Our school community has something to celebrate 🎉
We’re thrilled to share that our elementary school has been nominated in the Best of Westword Readers’ Choice Poll for 2026. That recognition reflects the incredible students, families, and educators who make our school so special. Thank you for being part of that success!
Now, we’d love your help shining a spotlight on another standout in our community: our middle school. We know how exceptional it is, and this is our chance to make sure the wider Denver community knows it too. How you can help:
-Vote for our elementary school once a day (per email address) in the Readers’ Choice Poll -Nominate our middle school so it can be considered as well once a day (per email address)
Voting is open now through March 9, 2026 (12 a.m.), and every vote and nomination makes a difference. The Best of Denver® 2026 results—both editorial picks and Readers’ Choice winners—will be announced on March 26. Let’s show how strong our school community is by lifting up our elementary and middle school! Thank you for your continued support and school pride—we couldn’t do this without you |

Important: 2026 CMAS Testing Schedule & Information |
|
|
Our students will take the Colorado Measures of Academic Success (CMAS) this April. These end-of-year assessments measure how well our students are mastering Colorado Academic Standards and ensure we are meeting our goals to prepare them for college and career success. The CMAS Testing Window is April 6-24, opening the day students return from Spring Break.
Testing Schedule and Expectations Review our schedule (below) to see exactly when your student(s) will be testing. The testing will be completed first thing in the morning, with any make up tests in the afternoon. To support your child and minimize missed instruction from makeup testing, please: Ensure your child arrives at school on time. Avoid scheduling appointments or vacations on your student’s designated testing days. The Role of State Assessments CMAS data is a critical tool for determining if students are on track for future success. For more details on why these assessments matter, visit the DPS CMAS Website.
Parent Excusals/Opt Outs
While student participation is highly encouraged, parents may choose to excuse their child. To allow our staff time to plan, please complete any excusals via the DPS Parent Portal by March 13. Instructions are available at the bottom of the DPS CMAS Website.
Student Preparation & Family Resources The Colorado Department of Education (CDE) offers resources to help students and families prepare:

Thank you for your continued support of our students’ academic growth. Go Storm! |

Diversity, Inclusion, Outreach (DIO) Speaker |
|
|
|
The Diversity, Inclusion, and Outreach (DIO) PTA subcommittee is excited to host distinguished speaker, Brandon Slade with Untapped Learning: https://untappedlearning.com/.
Brandon helps students develop the skills and confidence to succeed in and beyond school. Drawing from years of experience working with students who learn differently, Brandon specializes in practical, compassionate strategies that build structure, resilience, and independence.
When students struggle with executive function skills like organization, time management, and planning, they're more likely to have late or missing assignments and procrastinate on long-term projects. They may seem unmotivated, constantly frustrated, or paralyzed by perfectionism that keeps them from starting or finishing work. These students are often mislabeled as lazy or disinterested, but executive function skills don't occur naturally. They're learned. Teaching these skills helps students succeed not just academically but in all areas of their lives through repetition, routine, self-advocacy, and staying active - join us to discuss these strategies.
Please RSVP here! Date: Wednesday, March 4th Time: 5:30-6:30pm
