Morning drop-off is our busiest time, and a visible adult presence makes a huge difference. We’re inviting fathers, father figures, and all caregivers to help students and families cross safely and start the day with a smile.
What it is
A 20–30 minute volunteer shift right before the first bell @ 8:25 (at the crosswalk on S. Dallas Way and E. Cornell Ave.)
Greet students, model safe street-crossing, and remind drivers to slow down and follow the basic traffic laws
We provide a safety vest, quick tips, and a stop sign.
Why a special invite to fathers & father figures?
Students benefit from seeing men model care, calm, and safety at school. Your presence at the curb sets a powerful tone—and it’s for everyone, not just dads. (Grandfathers, uncles, big brothers, neighbors, aunts, grandmothers, and all caregivers are encouraged, too!)
How to help
Pick a morning (once a week or once a month—whatever you can do).
Arrive 10 minutes early for a quick check-in/training.
Wear the vest, be friendly, and help us keep the crosswalk clear.

With more students riding e-bikes, it’s important to remind everyone of Denver traffic laws and safe practices:
Helmet required: Children must wear a properly fitted helmet.
Sidewalks are off-limits: E-bikes must be ridden in bike lanes or on the street, not on sidewalks.
Follow traffic signals: Riders must stop at red lights and stop signs, just like cars.
Right side of the road: Always ride with the flow of traffic, as far to the right as is safe.
One rider only: Passengers are not allowed unless the e-bike is designed for two.
Be visible: Use front and rear lights when riding in low light.
No stunts: Wheelies and similar tricks are not permitted. While not specifically listed in Denver’s code, they can be considered reckless or unsafe riding.
During our assembly this week, we also reminded students that anything with wheels and a motor is not allowed on school grounds at any time unless it is parked in the bike racks. This includes (but is not limited to) scooters, e-bikes, and golf carts, and applies during school hours, after school, and on weekends.
Please take time to review these rules with your child so they can ride safely and responsibly.
