Registration Fees

Skinner will invoice each family a $125 registration fee per student in the next week. This fee will cover school supplies to your student(s). The fee can be paid online through MySchoolBucks. We encourage all guardians to sign up for MySchoolBucks through the Parent Portal. This gives guardians the ability to pay for registration fees, athletic fees, and school lunches on-line with a credit card. There will be a discounted fee rate for students who qualify for free or reduced lunch.  FRL Documentation will need to be submitted to Skinner Main Office or Jessica_Sandoval@dpsk12.net   Fees (English)  Tarifas (Spanish)

6th Grade Parents/Guardians:

We wanted to inform you that all 6th grade students will soon be screened for giftedness.  A description of the assessment is included along with more specific details of testing date(s).  This tool is one of the many measures that can be used as a part of a larger body of evidence to identify students who may need advanced accommodations for their learning. Students who have already taken a cognitive assessment and received a Magnet Eligible or Highly Gifted designation will not be tested again.  Please reach out to Becca Glosser, GT Coordinator, rebecca_glosser1@dpsk12.net with any additional questions.

Magazine Donations Needed

Ms. Smith, our STEAM teacher, is in need of donated magazines like National Geographic, sports, fashion, gardening, science, etc. Please drop off in the main office if you have any!

Locking Up Bikes

We are thrilled that so many students are riding bikes to school. We are in the process of installing additional bike racks inside the bike cage. However we do run out of room and students often lock their bikes to the fence, which is absolutely fine. However, some students are not using their locks correctly and locking up their bike frame. We have noticed students just looping their locks around brake cables and such. If your student rides their bike to school, please go over the proper way to securely lock up their bike.

Skinner Fall Athletics

Thank you to all of the students and families who attended our Athletic informational meeting on August 26th. Try-outs will be scheduled by the coaches, and start on September 3rd. ALL paperwork must be submitted online to Arbitersports no later than 3:00 PM, Friday, August 30th.

Skinner Car Pools/Walking/Biking Groups

A Skinner parent is wondering if there are other parents/guardians that might want to coordinate for walking/biking groups, carpools, or both.  She has created a form to gauge interest.  Please click here and complete by Thursday, September 5, if interested. This effort is completely volunteer parent led and Skinner MS is not involved in any coordination.
