Greetings RASA Families!

We are excited to welcome you and your student(s) to the 2025/2026 school year! We hope your summer break has been positively fulfilling, and you are rested and eager to begin the upcoming school year. Please allow this communication to serve as a beginning of year information, and please keep in mind that our teaching and support staff members are still on summer vacation. We ask your patience in allowing time for staff to respond to your communication once they return from summer break next week.  In the meantime,  the school administration and main office staff are accessible to answer any questions or address any concerns you may currently have. 

With that being stated, we acknowledge that students thrive when all parties are working in tandem to support educational efforts and the whole child. With that sentiment in mind, we encourage all stakeholders to be active participants in their students’ learning process.  In concert, our staff is committed to work diligently with all stakeholders in a professional and collaborative manner that celebrates, supports, and encourages each student's unique and specific potential. WELCOME to RASA! We look forward to working with you!

Online Registration for the 2025-2026 School Year

We appreciate you entrusting us to support your child in their learning development. To support you in this journey we will provide you with beginning steps to enroll your student. Once a family is enrolled or accepted into a DPS school, the next step is registering with that school. At this time you will be registering with RASA by participating in the annual process of providing and updating student and family information on file, including emergency contacts, health information and more. Registration is executed each year online or in person through the school each fall. We recommend registering online because it's convenient and saves time. However, if you need support we have established days for families to come to the school in person for support.  

To register online, sign in to the Parent Portal, click on “See All Apps”, then click on “Online Registration” to verify or update your student’s information. Online registration can only be completed by the parent/guardian listed in the primary household of the student record. If you do not have a Parent Portal account or have limited internet capacity, please contact our main office directly for registration information and support.

Please ensure that you complete your child’s official enrollment for RASA via the DPS Parent Portal (https://myportal.dpsk12.org/) as well as the my school application process. Any family that wants to exercise their right to district transportation may use the my ride @dps  transportation link  to access the process. We ask all parents to please complete the BESS Survey sign up during the registration process.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact our registrar Angelica Contreras via email, angelica_contreras@dpsk12.net, or via phone,  720-424-2310. Registration is primarily  online, but we have established in-person school hours if you desire that form of support. In person registration days and times are as follows:

August 5, 2025 ECE 9:00am  - 3:00pm

August 7, 2025 ECE 9:00am  - 12:00pm

August 7, 2025 Kinder, 1st and 2nd 12:30pm - 3:30pm

August 12, 2025 Kinder, 1st and 2nd    9:00am  -  3:00pm

If you are unable to attend one of these scheduled registration times we asked that you call the main office to arrange an alternative time to register your student(s) with our school’s registrar, Angelica Contreras, via email, angelica_contreras@dpsk12.net, or via phone,  720-424-2310. We are excited to begin another amazing school year!!  In addition to registration please mark your calendar for Back to School Night on Thursday, September 10rd from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm. Details regarding Back to School Night will be made available in the upcoming weeks.

Students with an IEP, ALP, and/or Section 504

If your student will be new to RASA this year and they have an IEP or a Section 504 Plan, and you have not yet shared that documentation with the appropriate district personnel, please reach to the appropriate RASA staff member for support:

Medications & Immunization Requirements

Medications - if you are planning on having medications available at school for your child for this school year, please bring all the required paperwork, and non-expired medication to the health office the week BEFORE school starts (August 11-15). Medication forms for the upcoming school year can be found on the links below. You are also able to download the appropriate form(s) for your student(s) and return to Nurse Garcia’s office. If you have any questions, please contact our school nurse at consuelo_garcia@dpsk12.net. Additional nursing support may be found here.

August 18, 2025 / First Day of the 2025-2026 School Year!  / New-to-RASA Orientation

The first day of school for K-2 students will be Monday, August 18, 2025. 

The first day of school for ECE students will be Tuesday August 19, 2025.

The school day begins at 8:20 a.m. To begin the day, all students will assemble in the school gymnasium. Students will be seated with their classroom teachers for a beginning of school welcome celebration. 

Parents/caregivers are welcome to join their students in the gym for this activity. During this time, students and families will be introduced to all of our RASA staff.  Immediately following our welcome assembly, all parents/guardians are invited to participate in a tour of the school that ends with school leadership in the Commons (the cafeteria) for coffee and pastries! We anticipate the welcome assembly/parent coffee to conclude by 11:00 a.m. Please be on the lookout for communication pertaining to more specifics as the first day approaches.

School Day Start/End Times

Our school day is 8:20 a.m. to 3:35 p.m., with a 1:10 p.m. release time on Thursdays. We are dedicating the Thursday early release days to professional development activities and  opportunities for our RASA staff. Please know that we have done our best to develop this calendar, but dates may change - we will communicate any changes via this newsletter and via district portals, as appropriate.

School Picture Information

School picture day will take place on September 3, 2025 during the school day.  Families may purchase picture packages at that time from www.lifetouch.com. More information to follow. Stay tuned!

RASA Bus Transportation

RASA Transportation will remain the same as last year. Denver Public Schools Transportation notifies families of their eligibility and availability for identified students. Yellow bus transportation is provided for certain school students within DPS boundaries. All transportation requests are completed in the Parent Portal.

Any concerns or questions regarding stops/transportation should go directly to DPS Transportation: 720-423-4600 or transportation@dpsk12.org
