PHE Families:
Looking forward to seeing everyone at our Movie Night / Direct Giving event tonight - What a great way to bring our families and our community together! Thank you for your continued support of our school.
In addition, I want to encourage families to utilize our Kiss and Drop area on the West side of the school. This will ensure a safe drop-off process while also minimizing the parking spaces needed. Please also note that the Parking Lot on the East side of the school is for staff only - it is not to be used for drop-off or pick up (unless your family utilizes the handicap space). Please communicate any concerns directly to me.
Hope everyone enjoys the night and has a safe and healthy weekend.

TONIGHT! Direct Giving Party & Movie Night
The party starts at 5:30pm, with the movie at sunset. There will be food trucks, bounce houses, and the Despicable Me 4 movie will play on a huge screen in the grass (bring blankets and/or chairs). This is also an opportunity to donate money directly toward your teacher’s wish list and other school related items, to be used during the 2024/25 school year. You can donate at any time at the event or before, by going to the Direct Giving Link.
October Count
On Tuesday, October 1, schools throughout the state of Colorado perform attendance counts. These counts determine funding allocations for schools and are vital for our budget and ensuring staffing and school support for your children. The district will receive ~$8400 per student this year. We request that all families have their children at school this day if at all possible. The exception to this is if your child is sick, please keep them at home of course!
Reminder: Gifted and Talented Cognitive Testing
The fall nomination window is open for CogAT testing. You can use this link to sign up. All submissions are sent directly to the GT central office for rostering.
Sign-up is available for all students except:
Students in Kindergarten and 2nd grade (These students will take part in our GT universal screening this fall.)
Students already identified HGT or ME (magnet eligible)
Students who took the spring 2024 CogAT
The sign up window is open through October 11. For more information: DPS GT website.
Anti-Idling Campaign
Remember to turn off your vehicle engines when picking up and dropping off your students. By not idling, you’re keeping harmful exhaust out of our school’s air. Less exhaust in the air will improve air quality and respiratory health in our community – starting with our students!
