Happy Friday PHE Families
One of the more fun parts of the Principal role at the school is checking into classrooms each morning and getting to see what students are doing. On top of math and literacy our students are engaged in some fun activities - ranging from learning about the Medieval Ages to Sustainability to kicking off a Kindness Campaign throughout the school. I love seeing students engaged in all these topics.
Next week is Halloween. There will be classroom parties and the student parade around the school. Please read the times and information below to make sure your student is ready for those events. If you would like to opt your student out of any of these activities, please reach out to your teacher or our staff.
Fall feels like it is upon us with the leaves and weather changing. A reminder that our students are outside nearly every day so please make sure they are equipped with the right gear for the next few months - jackets, hats, gloves, appropriate footwear (please label everything).
Have a great weekend.
Ken Burdette, Principal

Your Voice / Tu Voz Family Survey
Please complete the Your Voice/Tu Voz Family Survey before it closes on Friday, Nov. 1.
WHAT? The “Your Voice/Tu Voz” Family Survey is designed to measure the extent to which Denver Public Schools is helping parents and guardians feel welcomed, involved and informed. Your input will help us learn how to better support you, so that you can best support the academic success of your student(s).
Questions take approximately 5-10 minutes to complete.
All responses are anonymous and confidential.
WHY? At the school level, your input helps principals, teachers and school staff understand what is working well and what needs to be addressed to improve our schools. At the district level, your feedback helps evaluate the performance of DPS leadership. Your voice matters greatly.
WHO? If you are the parent or guardian of a DPS student, we want to hear from you.
Last year, only 22% of families shared feedback. We want to hear from everyone! Your feedback is important to helping the district understand how to best serve each student.
Our goal is to get to 35% family participation by 2025.
WHEN?
The survey is available online through Nov. 1, and can be completed at any time, day or night.
The Your Voice/Tu Voz Family survey is currently offered once per school year. DPS teams will have additional surveys on other topics throughout the year.
