Happy Thursday PHE Families
The weather has shifted the past few days, but I hope everyone had a chance to enjoy Park Hill in all of its splendor before then. I really enjoyed all the colorful leaves on the trees and holiday decor. With the changing weather, I would encourage everyone to make sure their students are adequately prepared for the coming colder days. We strive to keep kids outside as much as possible, so please have them ready to go with hats, gloves, and snow boots as needed. We will move students inside if unsafe weather conditions, but students do better when they can get out and run around.
Join us next Friday, November 15 for Coffee with the Principal. Our Special Education team will be joining to discuss how we set up intervention plans and determining factors for creating 504 plans and IEPs. A few 4th grade students may join us as well to talk about some of their upcoming Sustainability Club efforts.
Stay warm and have a great weekend.
Ken Burdette, Principal
How do we find out about snow days or other inclement weather conditions?
The district decides if school's will have late start or cancellations. They will send out communication (text/emails/voicemails) in the event of a schedule change. Families can call (720)423-3200 for updates on inclement weather. The district's weather delay and cancellation procedure can be found here.
The decision to keep schools open or to close them during winter-weather conditions is made with one overriding factor in mind: the well-being of our students and their families. Schools are not only vital places of learning for students, but they also provide nutrition, health care, counseling and support services. Whenever possible, DPS strives to keep schools open during extreme weather conditions.

Anti-Idling Campaign
Thanks for supporting Anti-Idling here at the school! We were featured in GPHN earlier this year for all of our efforts. Please try and keep it up as the weather gets cooler. Bring hats, glove, and your jacket with you so you don't need to idle outside the school!
