Happy Friday PHE Families:
There was a lot of excitement at school this week with Field Day! On top of students being outside and enjoying fun events, we loved seeing so many parents/families come out and spend time with their students. I’m really appreciative of our volunteers and staff that helped to make the event a fun two days for students. It takes a ton of effort from all involved!
As a quick aside, we tend to see a variety of emotions this time of year. Some students see the finish line approaching and start to push on rules and boundaries. A kind reminder to try and make sure kids get a good night sleep, have breakfast in the morning at home or in the cafeteria, and try to discuss family expectations around being kind, being a good classmate and following class rules. We appreciate the team effort as we wind down these last few days of school.
Lastly, we have closed the process for placing students into classes for next school year. Our teachers have been very thoughtful and intentional with class placements, and we ask that you trust the process. You will be notified by email of placements by the end of the weekend after school lets out.
Enjoy this Memorial Day weekend and we will see students back on Tuesday!
-Ken Burdette, Principal

Early Bird Registration closes soon
Early Bird registration for families is open right now. Registration is the annual process of providing and updating student and family information on file, including emergency contacts, health information and more. Registration can only be completed by the parent/guardian listed in the primary household of the student record. Registration is mandatory for all families and our funding is partially dependent on each family completing this. Please complete registration for all your DPS students and then submit. Instructions here.
