Happy Spring PHE Families:

Third, fourth and fifth grade students wrapped up CMAS this week.  I’m proud to report that students worked really hard all week, and we’re thankful for their effort. We know testing can be stressful for some and elicit all sorts of emotions. Staff did a great job in supporting students with extra breaks, treats, and meeting students' needs as they came up.  I look forward to sharing results once we receive them.  Kudos to all.

As we noted recently, in May our combined teaching staff (homeroom, intervention, special ed and other staff) will begin the thoughtful process of placing students into classes for next school year. This is done with extreme care and intention. We take many factors into consideration to ensure the most appropriate placements for all students. We appreciate your trust in this matter.  We plan to email placements out in early June as in past years.

On a personal note, I fully recognize that parents talk about class placements and teacher experiences. I urge you to be mindful that every child's experience is unique and different. From time to time, an experience in one classroom or with one teacher may not have been what you had been looking for; nonetheless, this experience for another student may have been magical or just what that student needed.  I also want to remind us that our teachers are human beings - they are mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, neighbors, etc.  Please be mindful of how you might choose to speak about a teacher or a classroom experience.

Have a nice weekend.

-Ken Burdette, Principal

Week 2 Update:

We are two weeks into our fundraiser and know that we have the momentum to finish strong in our final week! As of Thursday we have raised $6,709, so have a little bit of work to do to reach our goal of $35,000. Thank you so much for your hard work!

The winners of this week's “skittles” prize will be announced on Friday on our social media accounts, written on our banners by the playground and also posted in our Panther Pages next week. Which classes will win next week’s donut party?? Don’t forget that the class who raises the most will receive this year’s SMADP trucker hats.

Fundraiser Information:

This is a STUDENT LED fundraiser. It is an opportunity for your students to develop their leadership skills and give back to their community. As a parent you can help guide your student's plan and post a link to our fundraising website on your social media. The intention is for your student to reach out to your friends, family and neighbors to help support our school! This year we are hoping to raise enough money to widen the playground steps on the west-side of the school. For fundraising details please read through the student flyer (below) and check out our fundraising website!

*Fundraising Tip: The student flyer has been specifically designed for your student to present while pitching the fundraiser! My kids will walk it over to our neighbors house, talk about the fundraiser, show the flyer and then they are able to quickly scan the QR code to donate.

Park Hill Families!

My name is Howie Hutchinson and I'm a Park Hill Elementary dad! I'd like you to join me in an opportunity to compose the most important letter you've ever written. I attended the Legacy Letter Workshop last year in Phoenix and it will forever impact the communication and engagement that I have with my kids. It doesn't matter how old you are or your kids are when you write this letter. My #1 personal goal for 2025 was to bring Blake Brewer and his Legacy Letter Workshop to Denver and he'll be here conducting four workshops on May 14 and 15. Personally, I will be attending the workshop on 5/15 at 9a and I would love for you to join me. This is a free event! A couple of helpful links below.
