Denver School of the Arts (DSA) made history this summer as one of six schools nationwide invited to perform at the International Thespian Festival. DSA performers brought the house down with their electrifying performance of Kinky Boots. The show’s message of positivity and inclusion resonated deeply, moving both students and adults to tears. Many in the audience saw themselves represented on stage in ways they never had before thanks to the incredibly diverse cast! One student, Nicole Seigler, even won two Critic's Choice Mainstage performances. Congratulations to these incredibly talented students!

The Sustainability Team is excited to share that six schools earned ENERGY STAR certification from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for superior energy performance in 2024! Congratulations to: Abraham Lincoln High School, Joe Shoemaker School, John F. Kennedy High School, North High School, South High School and Place Bridge Academy.
On average, ENERGY STAR certified buildings use 35% less energy, release 35% fewer greenhouse gas emissions and are less expensive to operate than their peers, all while meeting strict requirements for occupant comfort.
This exciting accomplishment supports DPS’ Climate Action Plan, Ends Policy 1.6 and DPS’ energy management goal.
