For National Principals Month, and every month, we celebrate our principals and their dedication, expertise and passion. We're grateful for all that DPS principals do to empower our students and teachers, allowing their school communities to thrive. Meet Victoria Wyatt, principal at John F. Kennedy High School, and Dawn Salter, principal at Palmer Elementary School, for a glimpse into how two school leaders got to where they are today.
The DPS 'Your Voice/Tu Voz' Survey Closes Next Week!
If you have not yet completed the Your Voice/Tu Voz survey, there is still time! Complete the survey here by Friday, Nov. 1.
As a reminder, families with multiple children in different DPS schools now only need to complete one survey for all of their children.

EDUCA Podcast: Career and Technical Education (CTE)
In this week’s episode of the EDUCA Podcast, Director of Career and Technical Education (CTE) Dr. Jaime Fiorenza and CTE Curriculum Specialist Amery Martinez share DPS CTE updates. CTE is rapidly expanding at DPS, with funding being allocated for three new innovation centers in the 2024 Bond. The centers will provide students opportunities to gain industry certifications and college credit while building their knowledge and skills. Watch this episode in English and Spanish.
School Letters Now Available in Eight Most Common Languages
On Tuesday, Nov. 5 Denver residents will vote on DPS’ 2024 Bond package. If you’ve been wondering what funding your school will receive if the 2024 bond initiative is passed and implemented, we’ve got you covered! School letters are now available in our eight most common languages. Find your school on the list and download your letter to learn more about potential funding for your school.
2020 Bond Testimonial: Hallett Academy
The 2020 Bond provided funding for DPS school improvements. At Hallett Academy, projects funded by the 2020 bond included air conditioning, replacing 70% of the school’s flooring, new furniture in the art room and a brand-new outdoor learning space. Swansea Elementary Free Immunization Clinic
Swansea Elementary will offer a free vaccination clinic from 3-6 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 30. Pre-registration is recommended but same-day walk-ups will be accepted if appointments are still available. To schedule your appointment, please call the Central Community Hub at 720-424-3710.

Enter Your Artwork in the National School Bus Safety Poster Contest
National School Bus Safety Week is on the horizon, which means it’s time to start brainstorming for the National School Bus Safety Poster Contest! Every year, the National Association for Pupil Transportation (NAPT) hosts the contest as a creative way to get students thinking about bus safety. The winning posters will be used to promote transportation safety.
This year’s theme is, “Safety First - Safety Always.” More details are available below.

Poster creation is open now through April 1, 2025.
Posters must be submitted by April 18, 2025 to State Directors.
Winning State contest posters must be received by NAPT from state administrators by May 16, 2025.
National winners will be announced and prizes will be awarded in Summer 2025!
