Montbello High School Drumline Shines at Denver Parade of Lights

Montbello High School’s Drumline, along with the Latinx Student Alliance and Black Student Alliance, represented DPS and the Department of Activities at this year’s Denver Parade of Lights. The students worked tirelessly for months to prepare and their dedication paid off as they performed for their largest crowd yet. Their incredible energy, talent and teamwork showcased the pride and spirit of Montbello and DPS.

2025-26 Enrollment Guides Available Online

The Enrollment Guides for the 2025-26 school year are now available online, and are the go-to resource for information on all DPS schools. These guides include a general overview of each school as well as contact information, location and program offerings, and outline all the steps needed to complete the SchoolChoice application. 

The DPS SchoolChoice Round 1 enrollment window for the 2025-26 school year opens at 10 a.m. on Jan. 15 and runs through Feb. 18, 2025 at 4 p.m. Watch videos in English or Spanish to learn more about the SchoolChoice process.

The annual Goldrick Holiday Posada and Art Show took place on Wednesday! Families went all out and brought their favorite dish or dessert, such as tamales and ponche navideño, to share with their community. The event had a massive turnout and brought the community together to celebrate the holidays and join in delicious food! Check out photos from the festive event here.

#MyPlanDPS Student Achievement Award Recipient

Pyae Pyae My Plan DPS

Pyae Pyae emigrated from Myanmar to escape a civil war. Once in Denver, she enrolled in the Emily Griffith accounting course and concurrently enrolled at CCD. Pyae Pyae maintained straight A's, joined several extracurricular activities and created a portrait that hangs in an Emily Griffith hallway. Pyae Pyae continues to be resilient as she learns a new language and culture while planning for her future career. She would like to attend CU Denver to attain her degree in Accounting/Business. Pyae Pyae's advice to incoming freshmen is, "Go to school everyday."

#MyPlanDPS Student Achievement Award Recipient

Valedictorian Jessie's passion for sports journalism developed when he was young and learned how to count by recognizing the patterns in scores. Despite the challenge of being diagnosed with eosinophilic esophagitis disease, Jessie pursues his dream through the concurrent enrollment pathway and will have an Associates of Arts in communication before graduating high school. Jessie is excited to represent the Far Northeast community. His advice to freshmen is, "take your freshman year seriously so your junior and senior year the opportunities will be presented to you."
