Belaynihe has overcome many obstacles from a language barrier to adjusting to a new environment. Despite challenges, Belaynihe developed a passion for the medical field and took advantage of DPS programs to achieve his dreams. In pursuit of a career as a nurse practitioner, Belaynihe took multiple college courses through concurrent enrollment. Belaynihe’s interest in the medical field led him to volunteer at nursing homes, hospitals, and schools. He is currently enrolled in the CTE Certified Nurse Aide program. Belaynihe’s advice to freshmen is, “Stay active, do as much as you can before it is too late and work on your career interest starting early.”
