Hello parents and caregivers! Congratulations on making it through the first week of school! You deserve to be celebrated just as much as our students do.
We would like to send out a few reminders to alleviate any and all confusion moving forward. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to Mr. Tramaine Duncan.
Parties are not allowed in the classroom during instruction time. At Oakland, we celebrate birthdays on the last school day of each month. Please reach out to your teacher at least two weeks in advance to coordinate the day and time for it.
Your students' attendance is IMPORTANT! Please make sure that they are dropped off by 7:50 am every morning. If your student continues to be late or absent, your family may be invited to a meeting with the attendance team and the school principal.
Please refrain from using the staff parking lot during dismissal. All pickups should happen in the visitor parking lot.
Students model the behavior that they see from adults. Please be considerate of the environment and center students in every interaction that you have inside of the building.
Students, parents, and caregivers should be entering through the playground doors (see picture). Please do not enter through the back doors unless you have been asked to do so.
Our daily schedule is from 7:35 am to 2:50 pm. Please do your best to pick up your student from school by 3pm. Late pick ups may result in staff members staying late or other unintended consequences.
Students are expected to wear uniforms everyday to school. Sweatshirts, or other clothing worn must be Oakland branded. If a student forgets their uniform, there may be loaners in the main office. All loaners should be returned back the next school day.
Please make sure that your student is signed up to attend. Discovery Link will not allow for your student to stay after school if they are not registered.
We are currently looking for two people to coach our soccer teams this fall. There will be a 3/4 team and a 4/5 team, depending on the amount of students we get to sign up. Our students also have the opportunity to sign up for Volo Kids in Denver! This FREE program focuses on helping kids develop essential skills in a fun and supportive environment. While they won’t be playing against other teams, they’ll get plenty of practice and guidance. Primeros Pasos Program will participate in its first session of Spanish classes at Oakland Elementary. This program is designed to be an engaging and hands-on approach to learning Spanish through interactive games, storytelling and songs. Students are not allowed to bring in anything that requires more than 2 mins of microwave usage (including cup of noodles). Parents/caregivers accompanying their student(s) at lunch must do so during their scheduled lunch time. Any food delivered outside of the lunch hour will be held at the front office until the end of the school day.
