A Note from the Nest...

Johanna Zablocki
Ms. Johanna Zablocki

Greetings Nighthawks!

My name is Johanna Zablocki and I am the Class of 2025’s faculty sponsor. I have been at Northfield since the very beginning when we had a class of just over 100 students, and I am very proud of how we have grown as a school since 2015. As a faculty sponsor, I host weekly lunch meetings with our senior student council officers where all the planning for new and traditional activities goes down.

One traditional activity coming up that seniors should mark their calendars for is OUR FIRST CLASS MEETING on Monday, Nov. 4! All graduating seniors are to attend. During this meeting, we will review important information, such as the senior timeline, graduation requirements, and much more. Note: This meeting is just for students. Families, please pay attention to any information sent home.

I'm looking forward to taking flight together with the Class of 2025. See you on Nov. 4! Caw Caw!

Share Your Opinion: DPS Your Voice/Tu Voz Survey

Your Voice

The DPS Board is committed to improving student and school outcomes across the district so that Every Learner Thrives. To help, DPS conducts "Your Voice / Tu Voz" surveys during the academic school year to understand the perceptions of students, parents, and guardians. Students are surveyed to understand how 3rd- through 12th grade students perceive their academic experience and their social-emotional health. Families are surveyed to learn the extent to which parents/guardians feel welcomed, involved, and informed. The survey is open now through Friday, Nov. 1. Questions should take 5-10 minutes to answer. Individual responses are kept private; overall results are from across the district to ensure confidentiality. If you have any questions or need help while filling out this survey, please see the FAQs.

Dia De Los Muertos

Northfield Spanish Teacher, Ms. Diana Ballesteros, and seniors enrolled in her HL IB Spanish course created an ofrenda for the upcoming Mexican Day of the Dead celebration, or Día de los Muertos. Día de los Muertos is celebrated on Friday, Nov. 1, to honor deceased loved ones.
