Mr. Brian Cochran

As we head into the final stretch of the school year, I’ve been reflecting on just how much Northfield has grown. When I first started here, we were a much smaller school. In just four years, we’ve nearly doubled in size, and with that growth has come the need for stronger systems, deeper relationships, and a shared focus on what matters most: our students.

This year’s graduating class is the largest in our school’s history. Many of these seniors walked into the building the same year I did. Watching them grow into confident, capable young people has been a reminder of what’s possible when a school community, families, staff, and students pull in the same direction.

As Principal Resident this year, I’ve had the chance to learn from every corner of the school. I’ve continued to be impressed with how hard our staff work to support students and how much families do behind the scenes to keep things moving. The strength of this school comes from the people in it.

Let’s finish strong. Let’s keep attendance up, stay engaged, and make sure every student, especially our seniors, feels supported through the finish line. We’re close, and what we do now matters.

Thank you,
Brian Cochran

City Year Hero Celebration

Lots to smile about!

Last Friday, a group of Northfield students were recognized with the City Year Hero Award, honoring their resilience, leadership, and positive impact on our school community.

This special, invitation-only event celebrated students who go above and beyond—supporting their peers, staying focused on their goals, and showing up every day with courage and heart.

📸 Take a look at a few proud moments from the celebration below!

We’re so proud of all our students who lead by example and contribute to the strength of our Nighthawk community.

Ten Northfield Students Awarded Fidelity Scholarships

Ten outstanding Northfield High School seniors have been selected as part of Colorado’s first cohort of Fidelity Scholars, to receive this powerful scholarship.

As a last-dollar-in, need-based scholarship, the Fidelity Scholars award covers the remaining cost of tuition and fees after other aid has been applied, enabling students to attend a two- or four-year college or nonprofit certificate program without incurring debt.

Fidelity Scholars also gain access to a powerful network of mentors, financial literacy training, wellness resources, and college success coaches—all designed to help students thrive academically and prepare for strong career pathways.

Northfield’s counseling team played a crucial role in this life-changing scholarship, ensuring that students were aware of the scholarship opportunity, guiding them through eligibility requirements, and supporting them in completing the application by the deadline.

Congratulations to our inaugural Fidelity Scholars!

TNC’s 4th Annual Theatre Banquet: A Night to Celebrate!

students at a banquet

On May 5th, The Nighthawk Cast (TNC) hosted its 4th Annual Theatre Banquet, a special end-of-year celebration to reflect on the incredible season we’ve had.

You might be wondering, what exactly is a Theatre Banquet? It’s a time for the Nighthawk Cast to come together, celebrate our achievements, hand out awards, showcase our talent, and most importantly, enjoy each other’s company.

We also took a moment to honor the students who’ve given their time and energy to help the program grow and thrive.

Thanks to the generosity of our students and staff, 36 blood donations were collected to help save lives in our community.

We’re proud of our students’ leadership and grateful for everyone who participated. HOSA looks forward to hosting another blood drive this fall!
