Wolfpack Weekly: Community Newsletter 11/21

NEC Student smiles and gives a thumbs up while sitting on a bench outside.

Greetings NEC Families,

I can't believe the end of November is already here! There is NO SCHOOL next week (Nov. 24-28) for Fall Break. We will see you back at NEC on Monday, Dec. 1!

Coming up in December, we have some fun holiday activities for students to look forward to - decorating during lunch! On Tuesday, Dec. 9, students will decorate gingerbread men; on Thursday, Dec. 11, students will decorate snowflakes, and on Monday, Dec .15, students will decorate ornaments! Plus, we will have a hot chocolate bar in the last days leading up to Winter Break.

2025 is quickly coming to a close - let's end the year on a high note and keep showing up on time and ready to learn every day. In the meantime, enjoy the break!

Warmly,

Jennifer Warren, Principal

🤒 Message From Nurse Maura: Staying Healthy During the Holiday Season

Small, consistent habits help protect everyone and keep celebrations joyful! Here are some tips to keep germs at bay this holiday season:

  • Wash hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds
  • Use hand sanitizer when handwashing isn't available
  • Avoid close contact with anyone who is visibly ill
  • Frequently wipe down high-touch surfaces (doorknobs, light switches, shared devices) with Lysol or products containing bleach or vinegar
  • Ventilate gathering spaces by opening windows when possible
  • Consider staying up-to-date on recommended vaccines
  • Remind children to cover coughs and sneezes with their elbow
  • Use serving utensils instead of sharing plates or cups
  • If you feel sick, choose virtual visits or delay in-person gatherings
