Greetings NEC Families,

As we finish up another great week at NEC, I just want to remind you about upcoming PSAT testing! Testing will be October 8 for 10th and 11th graders and October 9 for 9th graders. Students, please make sure you are well-rested and on time to school. We will have burritos for breakfast both days! Please also make sure you have your charged Chromebook and your charger. We're excited to see you test your best!

🌟 Leadership Opportunity for Students: Applications Due Sept. 30

Do you want to be a voice for change in Denver Public Schools? Student Voice and Leadership is recruiting a new group of students for the Superintendent Student Advisory to work with district leadership, including Superintendent Dr. Marrero.

This advisory group will address student policies and concerns, helping to create a more transparent and just educational community where every student feels safe and welcome. If you're interested, fill out the Superintendent Student Advisory Interest application by Tuesday, Sept. 30. If you have questions, email Alyssa J. Richason.

🎫 Get Your Homecoming Tickets

Homecoming is Saturday, October 4 from 7-10 p.m. in the NEC gym. The theme is Twilight Eclipse: Under the Full Moon.

If you get your tickets Monday, Sept. 29 or Tuesday, Sept. 30, they will be discounted at $15! Tickets purchased Wednesday or later will cost $20.

You can buy your tickets in A Den. On Monday and Tuesday, you can buy tickets before and after school and during lunch. For the rest of the week, you can get your tickets during lunch only. You cannot miss class or be late to class to buy tickets.

🫶 You're Invited: Healthy Choices, Bright Futures at Bruce Randolph - October 21

Healthy Choices, Bright Futures is coming to Bruce Randolph School on October 21 from 5:30–7 p.m.

Families will hear a powerful story from a mom about fentanyl awareness, learn tools to talk about prevention at home, and connect with community resources. Dinner, childcare, and interpretation provided. Families may be eligible to receive gift cards.

✍️ October 8 & 9: Fall PSAT Testing

Save the date for Fall PSAT testing!

On Wednesday, October 8, 10th and 11th graders will have PSAT testing from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. There will be no school for 9th graders.

On Thursday, October 9, 9th graders will have PSAT testing from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. There will be no school for 10th and 11th graders.

On October 8 and 9, 12th graders will only attend school for their required appointment to complete college applications. Appointments will be scheduled in their community class.
