Greetings NEC Families,

It has been a busy week here at NEC! It was great to welcome our Transition Program students back to school this Monday. Plus, our Seniors welcomed the day with Senior Sunrise earlier today!

Our beginning of the year festivities will continue with Back to School Night on Sept. 11 - we'll have Dunkin Donuts, nachos, shaved ice, games and of course, info about your classes and opportunities to get involved at NEC. You won't want to miss it!

Enjoy the long weekend, NEC!

With Gratitude,

Jennifer Warren

πŸ“£ Get Involved - And Bring Your School Spirit!

We are looking for students to help us up our school spirit! Here's how you can get involved:

  • Audition to be our next Wolfie (our wolf mascot) at school events this year!

  • Sign up to be on our Spirit Board! Our Spirit Board will meet roughly twice a month for an hour or less at a time. Help us come up with a plan to increase our school spirit!

πŸ“£ Board Engagement Sessions

With only one year remaining in the implementation of the current Strategic Roadmap, it’s important that the Board of Education makes changes and modifications to its Ends Policies to drive the development of the next Strategic Roadmap.

Denver Board of Education member, Director Michelle Quattlebaum, is holding an engagement session to gain feedback from the community she represents. Additionally, At-Large member, Director Scott Esserman, is also hosting two in-person engagement sessions. Feedback gathered from the session and a survey will directly influence the Ends Policies for the 2025-26 school year and beyond.

Childcare, light refreshments and interpretation services will be available.
