Students hold up their NHS certificates in front of a table with candles and "national honor society" printed on the tablecloth.

Greetings NEC Families,

I want to extend a huge congratulations to our students who were inducted into the National Honor Society on Tuesday! It is an honor to watch you all lead with character, pursue knowledge, and give back through service. Congratulations to our inductees' families for raising and supporting such wonderful students.

I also want to congratulate our seniors for submitting over 195 applications to colleges all over the state and nation on Free App Day! Our seniors have applied to even more colleges since then. Keep up the great work!

Next week, we will be celebrating some fall festivities at NEC. We will be dressing up in fall spirit all week (details below), and on Thursday, Oct. 30, we will have trick-or-treating and a talent show! Families are encouraged to attend - you can find more details below. And don't forget, there is no school on Friday, October 31.

With Gratitude,

Jennifer Warren

๐Ÿ’ก Did You Know We Have Innovation Status?

At NEC, we have "Innovation Status", which means DPS enables us to use our funds in creative ways to promote all kinds of learning experiences for students! For example, we can provide our staff with additional stipends to run after-school programs like National Honor Society. We are in the process of renewing this status so that it applies for the next three years.
