Wolfpack Weekly: Community Newsletter 1/23

NEC mural that says

Greetings NEC Families,

Next week is ACCESS testing for Multilingual Learners! ACCESS tests are statewide tests that measure English proficiency; test results give teachers the tools they need to best support students' learning.

Multilingual learners: please be sure to arrive on time and well-rested on Tuesday, January 27 for ACCESS testing. Please be sure to bring your charged Chromebook and Chromebook cord.

We will have McDonalds for breakfast and pizza for lunch! Plus, we'll have prizes for showing your best effort, including candy, snacks, and gift cards to Dutch Bros and McDonalds.

All other students who are NOT testing: there will be no school on January 27th!

Finally, I want to thank our families for continuing to fill out our Possip surveys every month. We read every single piece of feedback! This month, we're happy to report that 95% of families are happy or mostly happy with NEC!

Warmly,

Jennifer Warren, Principal

⛷️ Learn to Ski For Free This Winter!

A nonprofit called ELK is offering a FREE learn-to-ski program at Winter Park this winter!

This opportunity is for students ages 12-18 who can commit to several weekends of skiing throughout March and April. You'll hit the slopes from 7am-6pm on Saturday, March 7, March 21, March 28, and April 4 (April 11 is our backup date). Transportation and gear will be provided.

The first 25 students who fit the criteria and commit to all dates will be part of this year's Share Winter cohort! If you register after the 25 spots fill up, you will be added to a waitlist.
