Dear McMeen Elementary School Community, 

Thank you for your continued partnership in the McMeen Elementary School principal selection process. We are excited to share that Ms. Lauren Sexauer Bartsch has been selected as the next principal at McMeen Elementary School. We are confident that Ms. Bartsch will continue to lead as a collaborative leader ready to serve and build upon the many strengths at McMeen.

Ms. Bartsch is an experienced school leader with over 16 years in public education and more than a decade in instructional leadership. Currently serving as Assistant Principal at McMeen Elementary, she has led schoolwide efforts focused on equity, literacy, data-driven instruction, and building strong relationships with students, staff, and families. Her leadership has strengthened instructional systems, increased student achievement—particularly for Multilingual Learners—and deepened family engagement through inclusive, community-centered practices. Ms. Bartsch’s vision for McMeen is a school where clear, shared goals guide all work; where professional learning, coaching, and data are tightly aligned; and where a joyful, relationship-centered culture allows every student and adult to thrive. Deeply committed to McMeen’s diverse community, she is dedicated to leading the school forward in a way that honors its values to Achieve, Innovate, and Unite.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who engaged in the selection process and contributed input and feedback. Additionally, we would like to extend our gratitude to the McMeen Collaborative School Committee (CSC) for their time, thoughtfulness, and unwavering commitment to the ongoing success of McMeen. This committee served the school community well, and we are grateful for this group of dedicated partners. 

Ms. Bartsch will begin listening and learning with the McMeen community later this spring and will assume full principalship over the summer. Please look forward to more communication from her in the coming weeks. For the moment, please join us in congratulating Ms. Sexauer Bartsch as the next principal at McMeen Elementary School!
