Complete and Submit Mid-Year LIFT by Friday, Jan. 31

The LIFT Mid-Year (MY) Performance Conversation window ends Friday, Jan 31. Host performance conversations with LIFT-eligible employees, and submit a manager evaluation (one for each employee), to the Growth and Performance Team.

Next Steps: 

  • Review the LIFT MY Slide Deck

  • Invite and encourage your direct reports to draft a self-reflection using their LIFT Tracker.

  • Draft MY evaluations using your direct report’s LIFT Tracker and ask your direct reports if they would like you to share it with them 24 hours prior to the MY conversation. 

  • Meet and discuss the evaluation. Make adjustments as needed.

  • Submit evaluations using the link in the MY tab in the LIFT Tracker by Friday, Jan 31.

  • Visit the LIFT page on The Commons for other resources.

  • Schedule time to meet with your employees individually following applicable bargaining agreements and timelines.

  • Invite your direct reports to complete a self-reflection form.

  • Draft MY evaluation forms. Ratings are not provided during mid-year.

    • For those who set goals, now is a good time to review progress on goals.

  • Meet for the MY conversation.

  • Submit MY evaluations.

Exceptional Student Services, Special Education

The Exceptional Student Services and Nursing Services Team would like to introduce our new DPS/Denver Health liaison, Sarita Armendariz. Sarita is responsible for connecting the appropriate DPS team members with the Denver Health team, ensuring both parties have the information necessary to support their respective missions and best outcomes for our students. If your school or team has previously worked with a liaison and Denver Health please anticipate including Sarita. We will share our new expectations and gain insight into your collaborative work with Denver Health. We look forward to continuing this partnership for years to come. Thank you for your commitment to students first and equitable access to our community and resources.

The Culture, Equity and Leadership Team is Excited to Announce Year Four of Achieving Excellence Academy (AEA)

Achieving Excellence Academy is a free cultural summer enrichment program for rising nine through 12 grade from June 9 to July 2 and orientation on June 5. This program highlights the experiences of Asian-American/Pacific Islander, Black/African-American, Latine/LatinX, and Indigenous students and families. It is free, fun and exploratory. The AEA gets students into the Denver community developing leadership skills, uncovering passions and forming strong commitments to social justice and service, where lifelong friendships and lasting memories are made! 

Program Highlights:

  • Fun, hands-on learning!

  • Multicultural-blended homerooms

  • Cultural student affinity groups

  • Cultural excursions - Lincoln Hills, Cleo Parker Robinson, University of Denver and more

  • Teaching teams, staff and community members who reflect student identities

Now Hiring AEA Roles by Jan. 30

The Achieving Excellence Academy (AEA) is a free cultural summer program that highlights the experiences of Asian-American/Pacific Islander, Black/African/African-American, Latine/LatinX, Native American/Indigenous families, students and educators. The program serves as one district initiative, especially for the support, encouragement, and development of students of marginalized identities and all incoming grades nine-12 are welcome to apply. 

We are currently hiring for the following roles:

  • Registered Practical Nurse

  • Front Office Support and Family Liaison role

  • Latine/LatinX Affinity Community Partner Roles

Are you a knowledgeable, passionate and culturally responsive educator? Are you skilled at safely supporting young adult learners through racial, ethnic or culture-based conversations and experiences? Are you intentionally collaborative and a lifelong learner? Preferred Communication Styles

This month we will explore the distinctions between passive, passive-aggressive, aggressive, and assertive communication styles. Understanding these differences is crucial for resolving ongoing issues and conflicts as we all have our preferred communication methods.
