A Year-End Message from the Principal — Winter 2025

Dear Families,

What a wonderful way to close out 2025 — my heart is full of gratitude for this caring, spirited school community. Thank you for your partnership, your encouragement of our learners, and the many ways you make our school a warm, welcoming place. I am deeply grateful to students, staff, volunteers, and families for a year of curiosity, kindness, and growth. We celebrated many classroom achievements, community events, and everyday acts of kindness that make our school special, and I’m especially appreciative of the families who volunteered at events, supported field trips, and cheered on our children all year long.

Our winter musical, We Are Monsters, was a joyful, hilarious, and heartwarming success. The show followed a group of human kids who stumble into a monster cabaret filled with quirky, lovable characters — from vegetarian vampires to rock n’ roll werewolves. Through their adventures the students and monsters learned that there is more to one another than first impressions, and that friendship and celebrating what makes each of us unique are what truly matter. A huge round of applause to the cast, crew, music and stage teams, and all the families who came to support the performances — your enthusiasm made the show shine.  And, a special thank you to Ms. Donelson and Mr. Alex for bringing this production to life at Lincoln!

Our whole school also joined together for a fun, cooperative CLUE game — and together we solved the mystery! Congratulations to Ms. Algoe's class for solving the ENTIRE mystery! It was a delight to watch students problem-solve, collaborate across grade levels, and cheer each other on. Please ask your child about the clues they found and the role they played in cracking the case — you’ll hear some great stories.  And, ask about our final celebration with Mr. Alex singing a CLUE rendition of Sweet Caroline!

We head into 2026 with optimism and high hopes. In the new year, we’ll continue to foster academic growth and social-emotional learning, create more hands-on, joyful learning experiences, and strengthen our partnerships with families and community members. Enjoy this peaceful break with your family — thank you again for your support, your trust, and for making this school a place where every child can thrive.

Warm wishes for a joyful holiday season and a happy, healthy New Year — see you in 2026!

With gratitude,

Principal Shelley

SAVE THE DATE:  SPRING 2026 CMAS TESTING

Important — CMAS Testing Window for Lincoln 3rd–6th Grade Students

Colorado’s statewide assessment (CMAS — Colorado Measures of Academic Success) will be administered to all Lincoln students in grades 3–6 during a required three‑week testing window this spring. Strong attendance during this window is essential so every student can complete their tests without interruption.

Please:

Mark your calendars for the three‑week testing period (April 7, 2026 - April 24, 2027)

Avoid scheduling appointments, vacations, or late arrivals on school days during that window.

Make sure students get a good night’s sleep and eat a healthy breakfast on test days.

Why this matters:

These statewide results help teachers and the district understand student progress and guide instruction.

When students are present, testing runs more smoothly and minimizes stress for classmates and teachers.

We appreciate your cooperation in ensuring every child is at school and ready to do their best. If you have scheduling conflicts or questions, please contact the school office or your child’s teacher.

Thank you for your support!

PTSA NEWS & INFORMATION

Thank You, Lincoln Community!

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our Lincoln families, our community raised $10,000 for teacher and staff gifts—surpassing what we’ve ever raised before! This support allowed us to give every staff member a Lincoln Lynx tote bag and a cash gift. Our PTSA Board “elves” assembled and delivered the gifts this week, much to the delight of our teachers and staff. We are so grateful for a community that consistently shows up to support the people who care for our kids every day.
