A NOTE FROM PRINCIPAL SHELLEY DULSKY . . .
Hello Lincoln Families -
Back-to-School Night was the highlight of the past few weeks at Lincoln. Thank you to everyone who attended and to PTSA for providing babysitting for the evening. Classroom teachers shared specific information about this year, including what students will learn. At our all-school presentation, we introduced all staff in attendance, including these new members of the Lincoln School family:
Chris Russom-Howard, Facilities Team
Destiny Martinez, Instructional Para
Reina McLinden, ECE Para, Student Teacher
Taylor Schwartz, Speech-Language Pathologist
Josh Konz, Social Worker
Logan Kinney, SpEd
Francie Anderson, Lower El
Rachel Matney, Lower El
Elijah Olinsky, 4/5 Traditional
Shelley Dulsky, Principal
In addition, we shared information about some of the new initiatives we will be implementing this year, including The Daily Mile, No Place for Hate, and Scripps National Spelling Bee. We also talked about the components of our Instructional Framework, which include high-quality instruction and instructional materials, assessment-informed instruction, and continuous professional learning for all educators.
I welcome conversations with all community members about the work we are doing to support all Lincoln learners. I'll be scheduling "Coffees with the Principal" soon, where there will be an opportunity to ask questions, share ideas, and plan for our future. I look forward to continuing our work together to ensure every Lincoln student thrives.
Here's to a spectacular 2024-2025 school year!
In partnership,
Principal Shelley Dulsky

Call for Coaches: Girls on the Run!
We are in need of volunteer coaches to help lead our next Girls on the Run season. Right now there are girls eager to participate, but we don't have enough coaches to support them. As a coach, you’ll inspire and empower young girls to build confidence, develop life skills, and achieve their goals. No coaching or running experience is required—just a desire to make a positive impact. Help us in giving every girl the opportunity to cross the finish line, both on and off the track! We practice Tuesdays and Thursdays 3:15-4:30pm from 9/17-11/15. We could use your help even if you can only make one practice day per week!
Volunteer and make a difference! To get started, please register here. Feel free to email leann_lovasz@dpsk12.net if you have any questions.
Playground & Construction Update
Our new ECE-Kindergarten playground is complete. We will soon be installing two new shade structures on the school blacktop area. The installation of the shade structures will complete the construction on our playground.
Our swings were not relocated during the construction. The swings are not fenced, as part of the new ECE-Kindergarten playground. When our younger students are not using the playground, our older students will be able to use the swings at recess. Older student access to the swings will begin soon.
Later this month we will see a bit more construction activity at Lincoln as one of our large building compressors is replaced. This will involve the use of a crane, so don't be surprised to see some large equipment on site for a few days.

We’ll also hear from Ms. Dulsky, our new Principal, and she’ll take some Q&A. Childcare will be offered for those that would not be able to attend otherwise. Please complete this childcare request form. We want you there!
Date: Wednesday, September 25th
Time: 7-8:30pm
Location: Lincoln Elementary
Save the Date: Laps for Lincoln on Thursday, September 26
What is it?
Laps for Lincoln is our annual fun run and the PTSA's biggest fall fundraiser! On Thursday, September 26th, all Lincoln students will run laps on the field with their classes. We’ll have class prizes for the best spirit and the most funds raised, and for the top two students from each grade that run the most laps. Our goal is to raise $45,000 to support our school.
Why does it matter?
Lincoln PTSA fundraises to bridge the gap between the funding Lincoln receives from DPS and what it actually costs to equip each of our students with the best learning environment. Your generosity has a real impact!
Stay Tuned for Fundraising Instructions!
We’ll be launching our fundraising campaign soon! You can support your children by making and facilitating contributions on their behalf. Keep an eye out for details.
Restaurant Night: Modern Market Eatery
Eat To Support Lincoln Elementary! On Thursday, September 12th from 4:30-7:30pm, Modern Market Eatery at 1000 S Colorado Blvd is donating back 30% of sales to Lincoln. This is valid on dine-in and take-out orders. Mention “Lincoln Elementary” when placing your order at the store or use code “giveback002” when ordering online. We ask that you RSVP here (even if you’re not completely sure) so Modern Market Eatery knows roughly how many orders to expect & so you have access to all the event details.
Celebrate Your Child’s Birthday in Style!
Do you want to see your child's name on the Lincoln marquee? Give your child the gift of a birthday shoutout! For a donation of $50, you can create an amazing and memorable experience for your child. Watch them light up as they see their name on the Lincoln marquee.
BASH (Be A School Hero) is Lincoln's key spring fundraiser. Donated experiences—parties or events for families, kids, or adults—help strengthen relationships and connect people within our community.
Some BASH experiences have a few spots left, including a Learn to Make Paella Dinner Party, Family Game Day, a Firehouse Tour, Cocktails & Caroling and more! They will be available until next Friday, September 13th at 8pm. Get your tickets before they sell out! All proceeds from ticket sales go directly to Lincoln.
Colorado Rockies Ticket Fundraiser
Join us for the upcoming Colorado Rockies vs. Chicago Cubs series and help support Lincoln! A portion of ticket sales will go back to Lincoln when you purchase tickets through this link: Rockies School Fundraiser and select "Lincoln."
