Join the Knapp Chorus!

If you have a student who loves to sing and they are in 2nd-5th grade, now is a great time for them to try the Knapp Chorus! We practice after school on Thursdays, from 2:45-3:45. The chorus will be starting new music for the Winter Concert in January. The Winter Concert will be our last concert of the year, to make time for the school musical, starting in February!

In Kindergarten students are learning to recognize the the difference between fast and slow sounds.

1st grade and 2nd grade are learning to recognize melodic patterns in the songs they are singing.

3rd grade started the recorders! We are currently working on identifying notes B and A on the music staff.

4th grade has been learning about harmony. They are working on creating harmony with their voices, and with instruments by playing accompaniment.

5th grade is beginning to review note naming and will soon be using those skills to learn a new instrument.

Upcoming Events

December 11th - 5th grade music Field Trip

The 5th grade will go to the Gift of Jazz performance in downtown Denver. Look for permission slips after fall break.

December 19th at 7:30am- Chorus Caroling before School

The Knapp Chorus will be singing for families before school on the last morning before break. Join us for some holiday songs!

January 29th at 3:00pm - Winter Concert!

Students in grades 2 and 4 and the Knapp Chorus will present our Winter Concert. Join us for an afternoon of beautiful music!
